Temple Word
Jesus made the most of every opportunity. He wasn't looking to accomodate the emotions of His inner circle. Just because they had Christianity in common, Church in common, being nice in common, Jesus didn't make His responses based off of how people interacted with Him, shared with Him, approached Him..... included Him or didn't include Him.... He did what Father said, shown and wanted. The 3 that bear witness in heaven (1 Jn 5:7) are Father, the Holy Spirit, the Word. The Word is the Voice of Father- the Voice of His Holy Spirit... This Voice came to earth as Christ Jesus. It is Rhema (4487) touching Logos (3056). Jesus always used Scripture in His responses; first of all because He is that Word and God exalts His Word above all His Name (Ps 138:2). But Father thinks abit differently than we do because He only thinks in Truth the whole time, never using ideas to override His Truth just so you don't get offended.
Matthew 24:1-2: Jesus went out from the temple and His diciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple.
Now doesn't that sound nice. Hey Jesus, we all are Christians, You love people utilizing their gifts, and look and the great cause.... skilled craftsmen built this beautiful buidling for God and we know even You can appreicate that, after all, You gave them the skilled gifts and they did use them for God, and the building is lovely.....
BUT JESUS DID NOT GET CUTE WITH THEM OR ACCOMODATING. HE SIMPLE BUSTED THEIR BUBBLE, SAYING, "IT'S ALL GOING DOWN BOYS!" v2
Not exactly the response they were looking for. They thought Jesus was supposed to be nice and walk in love and make them feel good about themselves... Sure, ok... but not at the expense of Truth.
Jesus made the most of the opportunity. He wasn't concerning Himself about making sure their emotions felt accepted and appreciated, catered too. He proceeded to project into the future what He knew about what He was seeing, and how that related to the Kingdom He was part of. He prophesied, "Not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down."
So here you are, trying to please Jesus and include Him in something You think He will like, thinking He will really be pleased because afterall, it is a church building so revolves all around God stuff.... but Father thinks in Truth, not in psuedo-kindness and accommodation. Father's kindness is more than a good idea or event, it is telling the Truth... and Jesus told the Truth at all times. This response today would make some say Jesus didn't respond in enough love or ask why was Jesus being so negative when the guys were just trying to share with Him~ But Truth is a kindness... telling His friends what He's doing (what will be done) is a kindness, for The Word will back up whatever Jesus does~
