Beauty For Ashes

Love how Job admits to God how He can do anything and how no purpose He has can be withheld from Him.  God asked Job a question, "Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?"  So Job realized that his walk with God had really been about uttering things about God that he really didn't understand or know... things too Wonderful for him.  Job realized he had only known God by the hearing of the ear, which produced the works that he was doing in Chapter One... intercession, good moral citizen, God fearing... all the stuff you are taught to do but stuff that is taught comes from the outside in...  after Job suffered loss, correction, misery, repentance... the eyes of his understanding were opened to see God and in a personal relationship that now involved more than just good church activity, more than just being a good moral citizen, Job now knew that even his righteousness had been a filthy rag, and after all the loss, Job repented in dust and ashes (Ch 42 1-6)... and by the end of the book, Job received twice as much as he had before (v10)... The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning (v12).  Praise God!
