This Cup

Ex 24:8  Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people.

New: Lk 22:20 (we are covered by the Blood of Jesus) This cup is the new covenant in My Blood, which is shed for you.

We --- lawless sinners; opposite to Ro 7:12 (the law is holy, just, good)
Jesus --- Mercy Seat = Blood
2 on cross --- lawlessness & law according to Ro 7:12; Grace
Resurrected & we have a new man out of the 2.

1st Adam & last Adam on the cross but vicariously toward 1st Adam since Jesus stood as both yet didn't sin.

Sin gets its strength from the law.
But u have 2 b a sinner, be a law breaker for sin to get its strength.
No law against love.

Word becomes flesh.
Appointed unto man once to die.
Jesus must die once because He's a man under this Sovereign Scripture so He's gotta die once (now) anyway so He might as well make the most of it, make the most of the opportunity, since Jesus Christ must fulfill the law... and isn't everything God says technically law... who is going to dispute Him for real?/!

Ex 24:8  This is the blood of the Covenant which the LORD has made with you according to all these words.  (Jesus is the Word)
Heb 8:10  The (New) Covenant is God's laws put in our heart & mind and now He's our God and we belong to Him.  (the mind of Christ)

The Covenant is based on the Word and Jesus is the Word.
The law that had changed during the changing of covenants went from fleshly commands being nailed to the cross to the power of an endless life (Heb 7:12,16).  And it is in this better hope that we draw near to God (Heb 7:19).

Jesus prayed to Father Daddy that if it were possible "let this cup" pass but not my will, Your Will be done (Mt 26:39).  And we pray to confess how we will take up the cup of salvation and call on the LORD's name (Ps 116:13) since the LORD is near to all who call on Him, calling out in truth (Ps 146:18).  And so by sticking close to Jesus, we receive Him mediating for us a better covenant on better promises (Heb 8:6).

Want a sip?  Then taste and see that the LORD is Good!
