More Than One

Paul is an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin but he was born a citizen of Rome (Acts 22:27-28).  He held keen perception and used it to advantage, not disadvantage, Christ.  Only when dissension/division is being used to discredit Christ do we note those who cause division/dissension because the offenses that will follow are contrary to sound doctrine and we should avoid this (Ro 16:17).

When Paul perceived one part were Sadducees, the other Pharisees, he cried out, "I am a Pharisee, son of a Pharisee, concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!"  And when he said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and Saducees; and the assembly was divided (Acts 23:6-7).  Meanwhile there is a conspiracy of about 40 Jews against Paul who wanted to kill him (v12-13).  But the ambush (v16) was unsuccessful because their plot was over heard in conversation and rattled on.
