To Over Sea
An overseer must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money (v7),
v8 but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, (v9) holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict. Titus 1
Many are insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teachings things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain. Ono of them, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons." This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith. Titus 1:10-14
Yes because to merely point out or agree with a factual lie is not doing anything about the lie. You can be right but there is nothing life giving about noticing sin. Knowledge can well discern factual truth with an ability to expose it as being a lie, but that in and of itself is not entirely life giving. Sound Faith is more than an ability to expose sin (lies). Sound faith will also leave the story in life by doing something like righting the wrong, point the way to Jesus Christ Who can heal, save, forgive sin, or protect the flock by doing something positive for them to fix the story; which is more than merely noticing the story then pridefully agreeing so that somebody thinks you know what you are talking about so hopefully respects you for it.
Why would this make them sound in the faith once rebuked? Because the power of life and death really is in the tongue (Pro 18:21). If you want truth, you don't enforce a lie, you work against it, but how can you when (Amos 3:3) you spend all your time agreeing with it?! Sound faith, in this case, was to speak those things which were not, they weren't truthful, weren't good, weren't hard working, so you speak those things which needed to be- you speak faith... faith is the substance of things NOT seen (Heb 11:1), and faith, had it been spoken like this, would have created a choice because the sin of lying/being evil/lazy, had blinded their minds and obviously desensitized their ability to choose wisely, but had faith spoken, then enlightenment would have challenged their sinful mind while it promoted a better path to choose from.
