Neighborhood Association

Mike and i attended the Neighborhood Association Meeting for the first time tonight. Even won the raffle prize, one of them, it's a ten dollar certificate to Hodak's Restaurant. The board members were nominated tonight and everyone in the meeting introduced their name and which block they represented. The outreach cop shared reports about criminal activity and gave pictures of four recent court sentenced criminals that are barred from specific areas in our district. Also learned how to benefit from link calling which is knowing the numbers of each neighbor on the right and left of you and how that will help neighbors and police... e.g. If you see a person trying to steal the GPS out of your neighbors car, who just happens to be away at the moment, then call the neighbor closes to you to make the situation known so that this neighbor can call the neighbor next to him and on down the block... this will help track the thief until the police arrive to increase the chances of arrest.
Anyway, we will most likely become sponsors since businesses get an advertisement in the newsletter that is well circulated. We met and spoke with Bill, the editor of the newsletter- the means used to find out about the meeting... because in this increasingly small world, the person responsible for handing out the newletter for our block just happens to be one of our customers who hired us to rehab two of his apartments. What an irony
. We are looking forward to getting more involved with our city~
