Stage Law
Laws are good. The Constitution is wonderful. Laws determine who we are to blame and who to hold responsible if we need to do that, because Laws/The Constitution help to delegate personal responsibility and activity. Laws/The Constitution help us uphold things... patterned after God Himself. God declared His laws are holy, His Commands (Constitution) is holy and just and good (Ro 7:12), but also God revealed that laws in and of themselves won't save us and can but only tutor us toward freedom {(Grace) Gal 3:11, 23-25}.
Yes, there is a Constitutional right or Law that permits a Mosque to be built in NewYork. The Law supports this activity. However, Grace does override Law on the bases of Love, because Jesus Himself Who is Love and Grace will leave you if you don't want Him... never would He seek to build His Church where the majority of the people He is reaching out to have told Him repeatedly that they don't want Him there. In fact, once He has made the offer to you, even repeatedly out of your ignorance of Him because He knows how much you need Grace, then if you still don't want Him, He leaves, and then waits for you to come to Him. He doesn't proceed to do it anyway and pretend He is being peaceful or building the bridge of peace with you. He plainly would tell you exactly His motive, He wouldn't run from tough questions because Truth never has to hide and because Truth never has a wrong motive. So if you ask Jesus where does He get His tax money and to whom does He pay the tax to? He will uphold Law. Obey it. Get the money from the fishes mouth to pay it according to the way the Law was set up... render it unto Caesar the things that are Casar's (Mt 22:17-21)... but then He will say to you, "render to God the things that are God's (v21)".
Even Christianity is not about forcing Jesus on people. I will tell you plainly about Jesus. And after that, should you refuse Him, the blood is on your hands...
So it is good to agree that building the Mosque is Constitutional, freedom of religion is an American right. But building when the vast majority doesn't trust your motive means there can be no real relationship and now you must use a law to get your way because no real Grace is being used to build the peaceful relationship, and legalism can take a Pharisee only so far before it blows up in his face. Laws blame, Grace saves.
~That's the difference between Law and Grace.
