Sisterly Talk
So, was talking to Christy last Thursday on the phone and she was disappointed at how dried up she feels, like God feels far away, how things don't mean as much, how she doesn't even like to watch the news because it's too depressing, and it's easier now to do things that before you knew you had better control over...
We started sharing how there needs to be something to look forward to. There needs to be some excitement. Some joy. Like a goal, or the joy that comes because of getting to plan something that really gets to come to pass. Then we remembered the faith movement... and the good of it, that no matter what seemed to be going wrong or on, we just knew it was going to get better. Expectation was created because there always seem to be something good to look forward to, and even though we didn't always know what all that 'looking forward to' would turn out to be, we just knew it was going to be better! There was a lot of joy in that.
So she resolved to make a few changes and one of them is to get her spirit fed the way she grew up spiritually... which means she will need to attend 2 churches to make that happen because although the country church they are now in was God's plan because of having used them to help build it up and befriend the Pastor, the music is hymnal old timie and we did not grow up on this so she doesn't get deep worship which feels like death to her spirit in that area of her life... and even though she listens to Christian music radio, you know, Tulsa has plenty of Christian radio stations, she needs to be able to worship in church so to cause her spirit to feel alive, like she really just worshipped God. So she said she'd run it by Jimmy, since he is close to Pastor, and see about going to 2 churches to get spiritually fed all the way around. But then there was the issue of the tithe that she needed to sort out. So i counseled that you split it because that money belongs to God Who will be building His house and will be using (as in case with you) both ministers to feed you, so give to them both since that Scripture used by preachers to bring all the tithes into the storehouse (your local church) is simply being used by them to get you to tithe because of knowing that tithing will bless your life. And most people only go to one church so of course you pay it to your church. *i don't believe the tithes should go to Christian TV & charities unless you don't have a local church that you attend, but to send whatever offerings you want to support Christian TV and other charities is wise, since first you build in Jerusalem (so to speak) before you go abroad. Her hope was starting to return~
