Blue  v40-46  Ch 22 Luke

Jesus didn't give them a pity party - He took them to the last step they needed to obey.

v40  When Jesus came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation."

Jesus then withdraws from them and goes to pray Himself.  He wasn't very far away from them but when He got back the guys were asleep.  The guys were filled with sorrow so would rather sleep then lay awake thinking about life.

v45  When Jesus rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow.

Jesus didn't give them false compassion and start saying things to ease their discomfort, or tell them a bunch of craup about how good it is all going to be now, what He did do was answer them with a real answer by taking them back to the last thing He told them to do which when fully obeyed will prevent overwhelming negative emotions like sorrow or worse emotions that come from anger or bitterness and unforgiveness because of not over coming temptation so are stuck suffering from consequences from bad choices.  Because to overcome means you get to keep your gift of joy.  And who couldn't use some more of that~
