The Stewart
Blue v10-13 Ch 16 Luke
v10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
This is so true... Everyone knows what they would do if catching your spouse cheat but what do you do with all those little foxes that spoil the vine? Everyone knows what they would do with a million dollars... but what do you do when you don't have it, can you still promise to pay your tithes and actually do it? Or help somebody when it isn't easy but it is the right and just thing to do? Character is not measured by ease it is measured by difficulty. v11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true (spiritual) riches? {Things so expensive you can't even put a price tag on them because Christ won't allow them to be bought or sold and after having paid the price on the cross like He did, He gives Himself to the vessels of His mercy that He might make known to them the riches of His Glory (Ro 9:23)}.
v12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own? Ever tell yourself, "Well if it was mine it would be different, I would take care of it!" Or say, "It's not mine, but when I have mine then I'll do it." This is so true...if you won't take care of the rental property you live in why should God give you your own house when you won't love your neighbor as yourself and take care of what you have as if it was yours already? You are showing to esteem yourself higher and showing partiality in your judgment when you do this. When you treat something you don't own with contempt but then expect that you will take care of it if you owned it, this is arrogant assuming, not the way to promotion and true (spiritual) riches, because these things are the unrighteous mammon, and you're never going to get to the true (spiritual) riches since v13 no man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Because you must first find the place where you no longer make differentiation, meaning, find the place of unity... don't make what you don't own less than what you do think you own, don't make yourself better and someone else less, treat it all the same, because if greed is not in your heart, it should not be hard to do, if pride of life is not in your heart, it will be easier to do. If God owns all things and we are stewards, then we just got a revelation on how better to love our brother and on how better to treat and respect one another and the things put in our possession to share and care.
