He Knew Destiny

Blue  v21-27  Ch 9  Luke

Jesus didn't stand in the prayer line hoping to receive a prophetic word about His Destiny or what He should be doing with His life.  He already knew.  He already spent time in prayer.  He faced the hard reality that said it wasn't all going to be easy and pain free.

Whenever facing reality is hard (because of not having yet died to self), it is easier to run to the prophetic minister in hopes of receiving an encouraging word that excludes all methods of suffering because the truth is, we don't want that part, just the good easy part.  Just the title, the power, giftings, connections... the cake and ice cream without the fat content and cellulite.  No gym - No sweat.  But if we really are to receive our callings then we are going to have to receive the part that we don't like too...

v22  The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the church board, the preachers, the teachers, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
~After all that, Jesus gets one good part, and that part didn't come until the end, but the reward is priceless and can never be taken from Him~

Jesus set the pace then said that if anyone desired to come after Him to deny yourself, to take up your inconveniences (cross) daily and follow Him because if you try to self-preserve and avoid paying the price of serving God in that you make your life so easy you're never really helping, then in the end you will lose your life, but if you suck it up and pay the price now and deny whatever your flesh wants to do whenever it wants to do it (drugs, sex outside of your marriage, watching porn, hating God's authority, lying to get out of trouble instead of taking face, being ashamed of Jesus, doing whatever whenever with whoever...), that in the denial of all that flesh you will have gained what is really real and satisfying and will prove you're not ashamed of Jesus or His holiness, since He is coming again in His own glory and Father's Glory with His holy angels, and to chose the Way of Eternal Life will last forever so its worth stepping out by submitting to righteousness since the life you have right now doesn't last that long and since Jesus wanted us to set our minds on things above instead of on the profit of gaining the whole world which is only seeking to destroy our soul anyway.  Jesus knew what destiny was all about~
