The Twelve
Blue v12-16 Ch 6 Luke
There's only twelve but whenever Jesus called out to Simon both guys turned around. We all do that when someone else has our name. Peter was so zealous, he too should have been given the nickname Simon the zealot, but i'm sure every time Peter got fleshy he turned around anyway every time he heard Jesus call for Simon. So in this small circle you have 2 sets of brothers, 2 sets of guys with basically the same name, a trio of business partners in the fishing industry, one doubter, a few guys that are popular but not, and that Jesus called not only disciples but apostles also after spending the night in prayer on the mountain, which thing is interesting because we would have spent a few weeks in prayer (or rightly said, doubt) had we thought this was the prayer God would use to be telling us who our inner circle was... yet Jesus gave one night of quality time to Father without doubting or wavering and by morning Jesus had His answer. His directions were clear.
Some things just shouldn't be as hard in the making as we make them, yet we do this because of trying so hard not to miss it or for the fear of making a mistake, BUT really all we should do is come to Father in childlike faith, asking without doubting or unbelief, then quit toiling over it ASAP, then go instead and take that advice given to Benny when he was about to speak about Kathryn Kuhlman who had now passed on, and Benny didn't want to screw up the presentation so had spent five hours in prayer just to make sure he felt prepared and ready, BUT Benny screwed up anyway so should have taken the advice to just go and "take a nap or something" so God could use him.
