 Blue  v32-42  Ch 14  Mark

Jesus addresses Peter's flesh nature by addressing the name Peter walked in before Peter experienced a transformed life; (v37) "Simon, are you still sleeping?"  Simon Peter was tired so he wasn't watching and praying and Jesus pointed this out by pointing out the problem in verse 38.  "The spirit (greek #4151 pneuma) is willing, but the flesh is weak."  Each time, three times to be exact, after Jesus had prayed, He came back and had to address all the sleeping and folding of the hands to rest (v41), having earlier warned them that watching and praying is for reason of temptation so that you don't enter into it (v38).  Jesus then urged that the hour has come, yet instead of saying the "Son of God" is being betrayed, Jesus eluded to the flesh nature by declaring that the ""Son of Man" is being betrayed into the hands of sinners." (v41)

See, under the fallen nature it is impossible to be an obedient Son of God, Jesus wouldn't need to save Sons of God because sons obey.  Jesus came to save lost souls, the souls operating as disobedient sons of man (the earthly flesh nature that lost the heavenly positioning after Adam fell in the garden when he for us all fell short of the glory of God through disobedience).  Adam the son of God who once obeyed had then disobeyed and got demoted, and Adam wasn't coming back in unless first he passed through the Sword of the LORD.  Jesus, the sharp two-edged Sword, wanted to restore us to His Glory (from Glory to Glory) and since He qualified to die in our place, having no acts of disobedience in Him, Jesus had to experience the pain of being under the man of oppression when He died in our place because that is what we operated in instead of His Glory... our unregenerate flesh nature ruled over us and put us into bondage to the elements of this world like our pride and our lust... BUT  NOW, thanks be to God Who gives us the Victory IN Christ Jesus, we get to become the Sons of God again.  I repeat, not children, that is only one level that enters as a deposit at the initial salvation prayer, you know, he who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved... but you could be saved from a headache... a son is different... a son REPENTS, which isn't just asking for some blessing it is doing what someone over you wants... like the authority given to a Father Who is ruling over His Son.  This is what Jesus won back and we don't deny the power of God which is Jesus Who is able to save our soul, and that is more than our physical healings and needs, Jesus took the Victory all the way and hit a home run by empowering us to become Sons that are well pleasing to Father God where now we cry out "ABBA Father."
