Non-Critical Condition

 ~Critics don't even like themselves

v3 Jesus was in Bethany at Simon the leper's house and as He sat at the table a woman came having an alabaster bottle of very costly perfume.  She broke the bottle and poured the perfume on the head of Jesus.  (Imagine being at your friends house and doing that to his guest... and then seeing it cause a big scene to where the peace begins to leave because the critical people there (had that happened in today's world) would accuse her of drawing attention to herself, or of doing it for show, probably even think she was some desperate prostitute seeking male attention, or at the very least just some low girl with tenacity, perhaps a few might assume she's doing it to get closer to Jesus although would frown on her method- it is quite unlikely anyone would think this was some great-good thing happening.) v5 And they criticized her sharply.  v6 BUT JESUS said in her defense (He loves doing that for people), "Let her alone.  Why do you trouble her? (u c how their critical words caused her emotional trouble - she didn't think half as highly of herself as they thought she did)  BUT Jesus said, "She has done a good work for Me." v8 "She has done what she could (Jesus justified her actions, countering their critical argument that sought to make her less by telling them how she is taking what she has and giving Him her all).  Then Jesus prepared a table for her in the presence of her enemies by showing her accusers exactly how important her sacrifice and worship meant to Him and how it played an important role in God's plan for Jesus' Life...  v8 "She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial."  She was doing divine work in God's Divine plan, and now she gets to go all around the world with her story~  v9 "Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her."
