These 2
Blue Mk 13 & Matt 24
v8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.
Mark 13 is about End Times. It's pretty much the same as what's in Matthew 24 with a few neat personality exceptions.
Jesus in Matthew 24 writes from the angle of systematic flow (then, then, and then), seeking to show you the whole picture by using details, examples, and word pictures.
Jesus in Mark likes to see you take responsibility and be personable so is always pointing people out, kind of like the "whodunnit" style but from a more positive basis. The writing of Mark 13 is angled around time frames, seasons, priorities, and higher authority.
24:1 Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple.
13:1 Then as He went out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, "Teacher, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!" (bet cha' it was Peter?)
24:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?"
13:3-4 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?"
What is easy to love about Jesus is that these Words are in red yet Jesus didn't rise up against Mark to say how he should be doing it Matthew's way or rise up against Matthew to say how he should be doing it Mark's way. Jesus left enough room for each person to filter His Words through their spirit-filled personality so they were free to flow while knowing that Truth would still be told. What's neat is that clearly there are two different personalities between these two apostles and obviously they sat under Jesus to have heard the same exact message about endtime stuff but Jesus didn't accuse them of lying or twisting or of a failure to quote verbatim... because the Truth in Love knows that we are allowed to be a person while following an even greater Person, and that Person wouldn't be greater if He acted a jerk like that.
