Were Astonished
Blue v1-6 Ch 6 MarkJesus was back in His own country (v1) and when the weekend had come (Sabbath-Saturday, for us Sunday, if You're Jewish it's Saturday, if Catholic it's Saturday or Sunday, if you're converted it doesn't matter), Jesus began teaching in the church
(synagogue). And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, "Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him..." (v2) {Well i've heard that William Faust sold his soul for wisdom and knowledge but Jesus just got His from Father Holy Spirit}.
Isn't He just a carpenter...? (v3) But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house." v4 (At least) Jesus got to lay hands on a few sick people and heal them (v5). (They marveled at who He was and) Jesus marveled because of their unbelief. Then Jesus went about the villages in a circuit, teaching (v6).
