Billy Joe Daugherty
My brother-in-law called today... Jimmy said Billy Joe Daugherty died (last week) and that Ed was going up to the funeral (at the Maybee Center) today. I used to live in Tulsa so consider it one part of my roots, yet still, you don't expect to hear something like this when you were allowed to visit Victory Christian Center, hear a good preacher teach, then hear that he died at age 57 from lymophoma cancer, when you knew he believed in healing and had been used to see others healed from various things. It not only amazes you but somehow touches you deep down because you know that God has His Hand there, having it all worked out, that everything really is going to be ok. What can be shaken will be shaken for at point neither logic nor understanding can explain what only simple trust and love can embrace, causing us to accept by leaning not on our own understanding in times like these so that we may keep our peace, for it's sure to realize that Understanding always follows Peace.
Jimmy had been given a CD to listen to around the beginning of October but he never listened to it, just carried it around. "Hell." That was the title. It's about this lady that had a hell visitation... meaning, Jesus took her to hell to experience it. By October 16th Jimmy still had not listened to the CD but he did have a dream that night where he had seen 2 people that looked like humans only he knew that they weren't human. They were carrying off his friends; out this door, down some long hall. He couldn't see the faces of his friends but knew it was his friends, except this one guy, he did see his face up close and Jimmy recognized him. Then the two carriers were coming back for Jimmy, wanting to carry him off but Jimmy said, "You can't take me. You got no rights to me." Then they started melting right in front of him.
Little did Jimmy know that the next day when he pulled into Ed's driveway that Ed had a dream last night too so as they shared their dreams, Jimmy gave Ed the CD to listen to but Ed gave it back to Jimmy after listening to it then told Jimmy to listen to it... because in that lady's visitation of hell there is something she seen that looked like those carriers or had felt like those carriers in Jimmy's dream. I remember Jimmy calling me last month to share his dream and we discerned then that it was an intercessory type dream used to stir him into praying for his lost friends.
In Ed's dream, Billy Joe Daugherty came to him and was prophesying to him. There were big pretty streamers behind Billy and Billy would fade in and fade out. Each time he faded in he would be prophesying but it would get louder each time. The words were very encouraging and Ed was saying very loudly in response, "Hallelujah!" "Glory to God!" Ed was saying this while he was dreaming around four or so in the morning, not realizing he was praising outloud until his wife "B" woke him up and told him he was doing it.
Around the 2nd week of November at the men's breakfast, a man from Victory who had been serving with Billy Joe for about 18 years was the guest speaker. A biker type dude or was one, something like that, he had suggested they pray for Billy's healing, also the healing for this 19 year old girl who was paralyzed and in a coma. Jimmy said he thought the girl was in Tulsa but found out 2 days later after Ed called that she was in a hospital in Houston just a few doors down from Billy Joe and had sat up,stood up... she came awake on that following Monday just 2 days after prayer with the men at the men's breakfast.
Anyway, Jimmy did finally listen to that CD on the hell experience so now wants me to listen to it the next time i'm in town and honestly, i'd prefer to listen to experiences about people having heaven visitations because it's not scary even though down here it sometimes feels like hell... Well... not exactly, but you know what i mean. Jesus makes you feel peace. And even sinners while they are still in the earth get some degree of that~
