Elisha's associate Gehazi is chatting with the king who just asked to be told about the great things Elisha had done when in the middle of sharing, in walks the Shunammite woman who had left town 7 years earlier at Elisha's Word because she believed after hearing Elisha say that the LORD had declared a 7 year famine, that the best thing to do would be to get out of town with the family and to go stay wherever they could; which they did because she walked by faith so she left her house and their land behind, probably feeling like survival cost everything but NOW she came back and walked right back into a miracle because although her reason to see the king was to beg him to give her the house and land back, the king had just learned that Elisha had raised her son from the dead, so began questioning her the minute Gehazi amazingly said that, "This is the woman!" The king sat all ears as he listened to her tell him what exactly happened as God used Elisha to raise her boy from the dead. The king was moved! He assigned an official to her case to make sure the woman got back everything she walked away from in FAITH, including all the income from her land starting from the day she left until now! WOW!
Her financial wealth was going to increase because 7 years back when she believed the prophet so now also must prosper, the foundation of this story was rooted in Christian Spirituality because true prosperity can only be obtained by the SOUL PROSPERING first, then the health and wealth will follow... Well, first her faith witnessed the health by the raising up of her boy, and now, because she continued to walk by faith throughout many new situations coming toward her, she through faithfulness (and 7 years is a long time to prove you are faithful), will receive wealth because she walked away from her wealth at that time BY FAITH, putting more importance on the well being of her family than on mere monetary value. Her priorities were in order! Her faith pleased God. Now God had set things up to where she was given political favor, or what we biblical understand to be the men who will be giving into our bosom, that she may receive back all that it had cost her plus the reward for waiting on God for 7 years. What an Awesome God! What an Awesome Old Testament Sister in the LORD! ~Go Jesus... Love that Truth of Yours LORD...!
