After Adam & Eve finished blaming someone else for the fall, you can see something interesting happen as the LORD God cursed the serpent.
v14 ...on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust.
~let's break it down into metaphors and axioms, understanding that the Old Testament is a natural example of a spiritual truth in action ~
serpent=snake=lie (-s)
belly=area of the spirit
dust=God formed man from the dust of the ground Gn2:7;
is also a reference to the fallen flesh nature - for
dust you are, and to dust you shall return Gn 3:19
satan will be feeding off of lies
satan is a fallen spirit
satan kills, steals, and destroys
satan uses our flesh nature to feed himself & his kingdom
satan uses bitter envy and self-seeking in our hearts to lie against the truth because this is not the wisdom that descends from above but it is earthly, sensual, and demonic, and it produces confusion and every evil thing. Jms 3:13-15
The flesh profits nothing. Jn 6:63
The works of the flesh are things like adultery, sex before marriage, jealousy, losing your self-control, selfish ambition, envy, sorcery, hatred, having idols by putting way too much importance on "things", and getting drunk. Gal 5:18-21
If you are practicing any of these things, satan is feeding off of you and you will be thrown into a spiritual fight because you are hand feeding satan's kingdom with your flesh and the principalities and powers that satan uses to get you to think this stuff is ok, along with the rulers of darkness of this age and the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Eph 6:12-13) which are providing the necessary deception - lies to get you to believe there are no consequences when there are, then please know there is a better way to live because we who live with Christ are also a heavenly host that are seated in the heavenly places with our own set of principalities and powers from the Holy Spirit's Leadership and we yield to His Life-Giving Character (Gal 5:22-23) and receive the wisdom from above that is first of all pure then peaceable, as well as gentle and willing to yield, it is full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy (Jms 3:17); so our fight is not your flesh that is committing adultery or whatever, it is the principality behind it making you think it's ok while it destroys your life, which is not ok, and the Spirit of God Who loves you and Who lives in me and other Christians will war against the lie operating through you or through someone else~ And how do you know... because what i just said will make you mad. People free from the flesh nature will rejoice that i'm being so bold. But i'm not trying to be a jerk for you but how else do you say it when you just need to say it? When the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (Jn 1:14), i.e. When Father God sent Jesus into earth to die for our fallen flesh nature, Father God allowed Jesus' flesh body to be spotless so that He could fix our fallen flesh problem... i had a long list of fleshy sins too but once Father called me out of darkness and into His Salvation He started changing my nature and way of thinking which is very challenging but never impossible and never hopeless! The Blood of Jesus protects the entire time so we actually get to obtain what real pleasure and real life feels like as a life style. 1 Jn 5:10-12
