All In The Communication

 Blue  v1-14  Ch 5   2 Kgs

Commander Naaman was highly regarded- a valiant solder but he had leprosy (v1).  A young Israelite girl had been taken captive and she served Naaman's wife (v2).  The girl mentioned the prophet in Samaria who could cure Naaman of leprosy (v3).  Naaman told his master what the girl said so in wanting him to go he had stated how he would write a letter to the King of Israel (v5); so Naaman left taking along some money & clothes (v6).

For perception reasons, Naaman's master had worded that letter as if the King of Israel must do the cure yet the King of Israel stressed out because he knows he's not God and can't do it so instead he assumes we all just know this so thinks Naaman's master is just trying to pick a fight with him (v7-8).  It all gets back to the man of God and Elisha says, "Have the man come to me and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel" (v8).  So the guy goes but Elisha won't even come to the door... he has a messenger do it instead, to tell Naaman what to do, (v9) only this made Naaman raging mad!  Because it offended his expectation and logic (v11-12).

(v13)  ..."If the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it?"

Finally, Naaman obeyed by dipping 7 times in the Jordan then he was restored (v14).

Thank God we still get the blessing even after we cause delay all for battling over the understanding~
