Everything is Alright
Blue v26 Ch 4 2 Kgsv26 ..."Is your child all right?"
v26 "Everything is all right," she said.
Her faith had grown some because in fact the child had died but faith teaches that the substance of faith is the evidence of things not seen so she bridled her tongue on that negative fact like the the New Testament book of James says to do and she spoke faith over that circumstance concerning her child.
Although Elisha was the double-carrier of anointing, even he didn't know what had happened to the child just because he was prophetic, standing strong in the office of prophet, or just because he was used to speak this child into existence as the message carrier for God, because the truth is, if God doesn't show you or tell you, you just don't get to know yet... and there is nothing wrong or off with you when that happens. And anyways, it was probably mentally better that he hadn't known yet, since the way to the miracle would be he had to lay on top of the dead body so the boy would come forth again... talk about walking by faith... i wouldn't want to have to do that! eeeuuu
Although it's great that the boy came ALIVE, it takes some serious guts to do what Elisha had done....
What if someone had walked in the room and he's not raised yet? How exactly do you explain that? I mean, we're weird Christians and all but oh my gosh could you imagine? Not to mention how the boy had already been dead so surely he must have had some unpleasant smells yet you're trying hard to pretend like you don't notice this stuff so spirituality can stand firm, strong, and kind! I'm just trying to put this in perspective for a minute... of what it cost Elisha mentally-emotionally to do this crazy thing. It's good that Elisha obeyed whatever him and the Holy Spirit had going on here so we could see someone raised from the dead but in all honesty, i want neat and clean miracles. Thank God the Old Testament is one big huge analogy and that the dead boy is a natural example of a person who needs to take up their cross, die to their sin, and follow the LORD once raised from the dead by The Message. The wages of sin is death so if you aren't forgiven yet of your sin then you are the walking dead and it looks like i won't be having to get on top of any dead bodies any time soon since this can be handled through The Message of Christ Jesus... and you know what, He still loves You! So if you hurry up and get saved then i won't have to do anything weird and then we both won't have to drive by any freedom from religion signs wondering about Pharisees, middle eastern extremists, crazy Christians, white shirts and bicylces, black t-shirts and shoes, because You and i will authentically know that religion in Christ is real and meaningful, and you know as well as i do that He is the Best Friend we've ever had!
