 Blue  v19-21  Ch 19  1 Kgs

Mt 8

v21  Then another of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, let me first go & bury my father."

v22 But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

Ch 19

v19  Elijah went up to Elisha & threw his cloak around him.

v20  Elisha then left his oxen & ran after Elijah.  "Let me kiss my father & mother good-bye...then i will come with you."  "Go back," Elijah replied.  "What have i done to you?"

v21 So Elisha...went back, took his oxen & slaughtered them.  He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat & gave it to the people & they ate.

Story 1
was going back to cleave because couldn't let go.  It was an unequal yoke, a possible idol in the man's heart...?

Story 2
was going back to let go & lay it all down, lay it all aside to truly say good-bye.

v21  Then Elisha set out to follow Elijah & become his attendant.
