A Lamp
Blue v4-5 Ch 15 1 Kgsv4 Nevertheless, for David's sake the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong.
David was Abijah's forefather and King David was faithful to the LORD and this (v5)faithfulness outlived his name, leaving the legacy behind for another generation to become blessed by the favor that was on his life because King Abijah did not practice the whole-hearted commitment like King David had but instead of getting snuffed out, the LORD chose to look at something He could bless even though that something had already died...
It's one thing to realize what iniquity sin came down the family line then get rid of them, but it is also nice to see what generational blessings are there since they too come down on a platter and work easily for us to build, encourage, giving us something to relate too that is positive.
I've never met either of my biological grandfathers... My mother was from Hamburg, Germany and didn't move to the United States until she was in her early 20's and due to the sinful circumstances surrounding her birth, we know her father was a German Scientist... mom did know his name at one point in her life but she let go of knowing that so i never knew his name. Even though my biological grandmother on my dad's side was active in my life while growing up, there is very little known about my dad's dad. One thing to do that helped is in knowing what country the lineage is from because every country contributes natural known talents as a people group and most likely you will fit right in. For instance, German's are known for creativity, electronics, scientists... When being tested in high school the recommendation received was that i would be good at electronics/computer science. My sister used to teach 9th grade science until being promoted into administration. In college i used to love to help her study for her zoology tests; she wanted to become a large animal veterinarian but changed her major. The thing is that it's not always about the problem, there is good stuff too and it's easy to see where the curse is at work but i want to know what the blessings are that are being handed down and flow right with that. Even if you're adopted and don't know anything to connect to, then Father God gave you Jesus to resemble since He made us His sons and daughters... even bride and wife.
