Gotta Know It For Yourself

 Blue  Ch 13  1 Kgs

The man of God just prophesied the reality and the man made altar split apart.  He was good at hearing God.  Good to follow, obeying, using his gift, but then after this great success the test...

                 ~Word against Word~

The personal relationship with God and knowing your personal value is required in passing this test~

In the Old Testament when a prophet entered the house it usually meant it was time to tremble because of the accuracy carried out in God's Word.  In this story you have a man of God and the age old experienced, proven prophet.  The man of God however was given blueprint directions from God Himself through his personal relatonship and his prophetic gifting.  The old prophet challenged it by saying that he too received a word from God but it actually countered the original directions given so now what?  Don't want to miss God by disobeying but which word is it?

Mind Battle
~believe the prophet and so shall you prosper
  (high accuracy rate)
~esteem others higher than yourself
(both are men of God, both flow prophetically with
    signs and provable wonders following)
~don't disrespect your elders
~he is aged; proven;experienced; God must have
   changed His mind?
~in having a servant's heart, why not let the aged prophet
be more important, since love doesn't demand it's own way.

Which do i follow?  The original Word God gave me or the one He's giving me through this guy?

There's the need... to know when to yield to another's gifting and when not to.

Mind Battle Clues
~God changes not
~He's not the God of confusion

The aged prophet was being used to test the obedience of the man of God.  It takes a personal relationship with God and the revelation of His Love to know where to draw the lines.  God is not going to produce major change of direction in your life when already He told you what to do.  He won't leave you out of the loop by having the relationship He wants to be having with you but then have it with someone else first then only include you in the formula as the informed second.

These should have been clues to the man of God that you don't start self-rejecting or doubting or get into fear before deciding to change paths and don't leave God out of the math either or where are you going to put the personal relationship?  This part is never set aside for gifts, for people, for assignments, for good works- we carry this part the whole time so if there is major change coming into your life your personal relationship with Father God through Christ Jesus is going to inform you.
