v11 The king of Israel gave 20 towns from Galilee (the northern most part of Palestine and the ancient kingdom of Israel) to the king of Lebanon. Hiram had supplied Solomon with cedars, pines, and all the gold he wanted so for doing this Solomon gave the towns but not because of international pressure, sibling rivalry, or high demands. Yet still, Hiram was not impressed (v12). Solomon however had used the supplies during 2 important building projects ~ To build God's house, then also to build his own (v10).
