v24-25 God put the mercy back. After the LORD dealt with David where he and Bathsheba lost the child committed in adultery, the LORD didn't hold a grudge against them only to continue to punish them or look down on them with disdain every time they interacted. GOD did the opposite for their very next child Solomon who was now being addressed as the LORD told Nathan the prophet to tell David and Bathsheba to name him "Jedidiah" meaning "Loved by the LORD." God still operates in this Mercy pattern today where we see how the Germans under Hilter were responsible for the holocaust that mercilessly killed many Jews yet after the LORD rebuked this evil He did not hold a grudge against the repentive Germans nor stop loving them as a people group and to show how He still loved them He raised up Paul Crouch, a German and owner of TBN, the largest Christian Television Network in the world, to carry the most important, most precious message to Father God's heart. You can't hold a grudge and do that at the same time. Once God deals with sin and the consequence is issued, it is over in God's mind as He goes on to love the repentive sinner because if His Pattern was to grudge hold, keep punishing, or keep throwing it in our face, then we would have seen this Patten with Jesus on the cross by seeing the need to crucify Jesus over and over again but as it is, He died once and for all...
