David just wanted to show kindness to honor someone who when he was alive had honored him. David sent a delegation to express sympathy to honor Hanun's father but the Jordanian nobles questioned David's pure motive believing instead he did this as a cover to explore their city, to spy on it, to over throw it (v1-3), so instead of just receiving David's gift these nobles humiliated what David was doing (v5) but all what it caused was a war that led to their defeat (v7-18). After being defeated they made peace (v19). And all was well.
~Going on vacation for a week to visit and spend the night with a good friend in Ozark, MO then on to Tulsa, OK to visit and do some painting with my sister so won't be back blogging until Monday the 23rd
