Have Mercy
Blue v25-27 Ch 3 2 SamDownload | Duration: 00:05:49
Joab didn't trust Abner...hmm, wonder why? Both were high in command. Joab thought Abner came only to deceive so was there to observe David's every move (v25). Don't think Joab overcame issues from the past. Actually Abner had defected from Saul's Military being offended by Ish-Bosheth's accusation so really he was there for that reason except Joab held personal reasons why he distrusted Abner, namely, that Abner had murdered his brother Asahel (v27) so wanted revenge. Hate, punishment and unforgiveness, had flooded Joab's vision making no way to see any good motives as long as this filter of negative emotions was used to analyze new information. Joab needed inner healing from this injustice and it would have allowed Joab to experience how mercy truimphs over judgment (Jms 2:13) while helping him not stoop to a lower level of sowing and reaping over that same behavior he hated Abner for.
