The Ziphites are willing to hand David over to Saul (v19). Saul has the blind tenacity to tell the Ziphites, "The LORD bless you for your concern for me."
The LORD bless you? What is He supposed to bless? Saul's sinful ability to get people on his side so after the religious & political manipulation the people will give in?
Saul doesn't get counsel from the godly (Ps 1:1), he gets it from that evil spirit that is sitting on top of him, telling him to do crazy things like, "track David down among all the clans of Judah (v23)..." 23=death so you can kill him.
You know how many clans there are? That's obsessed! He's chasing 1 man, 1 innocent man, and using 3k troops to do it (24:2). Talk about a waste of tax payer money. What is wrong with you? Saul's entire focus is on saving his position because he knows this position has been given to David, but still he acts like God is on his side. When God hands a person over to their own stubborn way, they don't forget whatever bible was learned up to that point. A christian doesn't forget how to sin just because he's a christian. He simply becomes spit in God's mouth. Living for the devil while quoting scripture...
