Faithful God - Part 1
Blue v6-9 Ch 18 1 Sam
v6-7 Could you imagine having a group of happy naive women come out to meet you only to joyfully dance around and sing how you only killed a thousand enemies but David killed 10,000? v8 It made Saul so mad! He probably thought that if it wasn't for him promoting David into the high rank within his army that David couldn't even be where he is today (v5), so from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David (v9) saying, "What more can he get but the kingdom (v8)."
Saul's jealousy blinded him, totally dismissing the fact that his own disobedience already caused that to happen so David had nothing to do with that loss even if David could get the kingdom.Ch 15 v27-28 As Samuel turned to leave, Saul caught hold of the hem of his robe, and it tore. Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors- to one better than you."
Ch 15 v23 Rebellion is like the sin of divination (witchcraft). Arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.
Saul's jealousy resulted in an evil spirit from God that had come forcefully upon Saul the next day (v10).
