God did not give us the spirit of fear. He's given His children power, love, and a sound mind (1 Tim 1:7).
anemic relationshipSamson's wife was living out from the fallen nature (the fearful spirit). She was threatened then responded to that treat with the spirit of fear.

She made Samson believe these were her reasons for wanting to know his riddle when really it was because she was being treatened. So did she trust Samson to care enough about her to act or defend? Why didn't she tell him what was going on? They had communication problems in their marriage that kept information from one another. Makes you feel that there is a trust problem.
Sounds like the couple needed more coffee time to get to know each other better. Maybe Samson would have told her about that bet he made...?Ps 112:10 The desire of the wicked shall perish. The wife desired to save herself and her side of the family but trying to do this through the spirit of fear won't/didn't work.
Instead, the thing she feared the most came upon her (Job 3:25). So the Philistines ended up burning her and her father to death anyway (ch 15 v 6).
What's nice about Jesus is His Spirit (Christ) is different. The difference between someone fighting off fear without Him and being on His side while yet battling the spirit of fear when it tries to make you feel afraid is Christ lets us run into Him to help our mind calm down that we may stop leaning on our own understanding (Pro 3:5). In this way we are allowed to let go of control because the story being presented to us is most times incomplete, lacking details and victory at the moment, so Christ will remind us to be still, stay calm, walk by faith that can't explain at this moment why or how everything is going to be ok, just trust the LORD, that He will see you through to the victory. It is childlike faith that simply stands (Ep 6:13-14) whenever it is being challenged to fear. Fear and Faith are opposites. Only faith produces healing miracles.
