Some Misunderstanding
Blue v2-3 Ch 15 Jud
We don't war against flesh and blood... Ep 6:12
Samson is mad at his wife for telling the Philistines his riddle. Samson probably didn't appreciate the way she tried to make him feel guilty about it, (v16) hiding behind the accusation of how he hated her and didn't love her but then goes and tells the very person he didn't want to know (v17), giving him that "betrayed" feeling~
Samson's wife feels like she is protecting her family and saving lives (v15-17)- A noble thing to do- probably didn't think it was a big deal if these guys knew the answer to the riddle- Samson may not have told her about his little bet... anyway.
Samson's Father-in-law thinks Samson hates his daughter (15:1) over the whole episode so gives her to another guy (14:20) so now Samson is really upset, feeling he has the right to get even with the Philistines (v3).
The whole sin part is our doing- all these misunderstandings, the way we respond to each other "in part" (1 Cor 13:9), doing the best we can to process stories. But the fact that God stirred it up by originating it because He had a plan is and was God's doing. It seems God is using our weaknesses to fulfill His plan and we are busy fighting each other when we should take time to recognize that it's an awesome thing to fall into the hands of a Living God (Heb 10:31) and maybe ask why He was so upset with the Philistines? What were they doing wrong that He would allow our sinful responses to be used to destroy them?
Maybe it's not all about this stuff in the middle but about who is fearing God from the "beginning unto the end?"
