Blue v15-18 Ch 14 JudPeople respond according to what is already at work in them. If you are not tempted to steal then trying to get you to rob a bank is ludricrous because stealing is not your weakness, you don't even think that way.
Eve was in a pure state of being so she would not have responded to being threatened like how Samson's wife had responded to it.
The serpent had to make it sound and look good because Eve 'was Good.' Goodness was all Eve knew and it was the only mindset she was familar with {to the pure all things are pure (Tit 1:15)}. To get her to be tempted to follow darkness the darkness had to quote the Light then speak to the mindset of light within her or simply she would not have been tempted to follow. But when Eve seen "goodness," that which was already at work within her that she could relate/identify with, Eve followed because of having "seen" that the tree was "good" for food (Gn 3:6).
Progression - Just as the light gets lighter (2 Cor 3:18), the darkness gets darker (Ps 9:17).
From using (Mt 6:23) disguised light on Eve then progressing darker by using the darkened mindset of open threat without even trying to be nicer than you really are had successfully played on Samson's wife who was operating out of the fallen nature (unlike Eve). The enemy spoke to what was operating on the inside of these woman to get them to follow. With Samson's wife, instead of speaking out from the good side of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the darkness spoke straight from the evil side and threatened to burn Samson's wife & her father's family if she didn't find out the answer that would solve Samson's riddle. She was being black-mailed. When your inner man is operating from the spirit of fear, it will respond to the voice that speaks into that fear, causing you to react in fear. Before Eve fell she was operating out from God's Spirit and so needed the voice to sound like the way God talks or you could not have gotten her to follow. Evil people know this then deceive good people to get their own way. Father set up His example of Love (1 Cor 13:4-8) for our responses so we wouldn't have to worry about who is trying to do what to us, this way we can keep our concentrate still on the good and let Him handle all the evil. This makes it much easier on us since God will repay each man according to his deeds (Gal 6:7).
But even He tells us that we are His sheep (don't have to worry about being smart, knowing everything, just live by faith) because we do know His Voice and another's voice we will not follow (Jn 10:4).
