Honest Identity
Blue v7 Ch 5 Jud
A healthy, honest self identity is to be embraced. False humility practices self-rejection then assumes it has actual power to steal God's Glory. Glory only comes from God and God cannot be stolen. Once God created us in His image, an image of glory, that image was exchanged (for an image made like unto corruptible man), it was not stolen. The devilish spirit that is much more powerful than the human nature already tried that and even satan couldn't get God's glory for himself so don't think you are going to have to worry about that but in order to effectively obey the 2 commands that sum up all the law and prophets, we must receive love. We love God (Who is Love) Who not only demonstrated Love but imparted it through Jesus that we may practice it in Christ (1 Cor 13:4-8). Loving God is the easy part- Loving neighbor is more challenging. Ever try to give someone a compliment but in their next breath they are apologizing for using their gift by the false thinking that if they don't redirect your compliment back to God that You are somehow causing them to steal God's glory. For example, while at church a girl sings a solo then afterwards you compliment her on how lovely it was, how anointed, then she begins to feel guilty by saying "well the glory is all God's, it's not me..." First of all, nobody is really confused about Who God is. Secondly, when He flows through you and the gifting He gave you, don't assume i'm not Thanking Him too, i can only do one thing at a time. If you cannot humbly accept this honor by simply saying Thank You, then how, when and where, do we obey the command to give honor to whom honor is due? Do we think God is so full of Himself that He doesn't let us give compliments to one another after yielding to our giftings? It is appropriate to Thank somebody who just blessed you. It is appropriate to Worship God Who just used them to bless you. Wisdom knows what time it is and just because they didn't worship God right in front of You after giving you the compliment doesn't mean it's not going to happen, where is our faith to do love, love that "always believes" in the best for each other? Do we think so little of each other?
When Lucifer fell he was wearing 9 stones of the City. Out of the 12, representing various levels-anointings-giftings, Lucifer wore 9 precious coverings and was very powerful & very gifted. What happened was he corrupted his WISDOM for the sake of his SPLENDOR. Meaning that in the (splendor) greatness of his achievements and brilliance of reflecting God's Light he stopped praticing good judgment (wisdom). It is not wise to believe i'm worshipping you just because you got a compliment from me. It is not wise to reject honor when you just acted honorably because this is the pride of false humility, justification, the lack of knowing who you are, who i am, and assuming to know Who God is to think He would expect you to do this as some humble way of pointing people to Him. God doesn't share His Glory with no man and His Glory cannot be stolen, but God does share honor and honor is a very humbling experience because deep down we know these gifts, character, love, abilities, are there only because of God's Goodness.
Deborah embraced her role, unafraid to speak it from her own lips. (v7) "...until I, Deborah arose, arose as a mother in Israel" Deborah accepted her place in God's family, leaving out of her statment the spirit of arrogrance, bragging, self-rejecting, false humility, or thinking herself higher than she really was to think. Deborah was honest with herself, able to confess reality without diminishing those around her. This is what a healthy, honest self-identity looks like.
