Know what's funny about that song? In the 80's while growing up as a teenager in Paradise Pines, California, after having heard about the plant experiment- i tried it! 
~One day mom overheard sis and i playing Ozzy Osbourne or some group like that wherein bible scripture had been quoted in the song but in the satanic way... Mom stormed in the room, yanked the cassette out of the player and she ripped the tape out of it! She was MAD! She said something like, "DON'T YOU EVER PLAY MUSIC LIKE THAT IN THIS HOUSE AGAIN!"
