Foreshadow of Jesus
v26 Then Joshua struck and killed the kings and hung them on 5 trees...
            (Salvation was struck, the King of Grace was killed for our sin
                and hung on a tree...)

v27 Joshua gave the order...took them down from the trees and threw
         them into the cave... at the mouth of the cave they placed large
         rocks...
              (Jesus was taken down from the tree, laid in a cave, large
                  boulder placed in front of it...)

         * cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree
         * vicarious death

Non-Chronological Order - when Eternity inserts its agenda into time whereas B does not necessarily follow A before "order" or "clear understanding" can exist.

Christ was slain before the foundation of the world- this happened before Genesis creation documented we were created first to live, then die, then live to die that we may live again.

                         *Confused...?   No!

                                                     Gilgal

Christ is the firstfruits to rise from the dead (1 Cor 15:20). We rise sometime after Him in an appointed order (1 Cor 15:23). (Meaning, salvation is a free gift by faith.  Sanctification follows salvation that we may grow up into Sons of God to avoid being a baby.  Babies that don't grow eventually die.) Man was created in Genesis. Jesus didn't show up until New Testament- chronologically written after Genesis. Time is limitation by the boundaries it creates. Eternal life is without boundaries so whenever Father wants He makes it show up on the scene by inserting His Spiritual Vision into Natural Acts & Time. It doesn't matter who is first or last in the realm of Eternity because that doesn't determine if you are better or less because Father neutralizes this arrogance using Eternity to make the first last and the last first so that none may boast. We are equal. We are created in His Image. Being hidden in Christ means Christ doesn't separate Himself into parts of more or less important. To Him Life is Life and You cannot Live Without It.
                                              ~In Him we live and move and have our being.
                                                                         Acts 17:28

*Then Salvation (Joshua) returned to the people (Israel) to camp at (Gilgal) the Circle of Life (v15).
