The Israelites had moved about in the desert 40yrs until all the complainers (men) had died, since they had not obeyed the LORD...

A Complete New Beginning
No Pain, No Gain
So God raised up...Sons in their place, and these were the ones Salvation (Joshua) gave a new heart too (circumcised). After the whole nation had been (cut with the Sword of the LORD) circumcised, they remained where they were in camp until they were healed (given time to get strong).

Fruit of the Spirit took Victory over the broken Law
The LORD said to those saved (Joshua), "Today I have rolled away the reproach of Bondage (Egypt) from you." So the place has been called The Circle of Life (Gilgal) to this day. On the evening of Salvation & Deliverance, the 14th day of the month, while camped at the Circle of Life (Gilgal)...the overcomers (Israelites) celebrated Passover (their Salvation).
