v4 But the woman had hidden the spies by telling Pride that, "Yes the spies came to me, but I did not know where they had come from," acting like the dumb blond who didn't know what was going on and so the Pride didn't know what exactly to do since the smart dumb blonds made this pleaing prayer with the agents first:
v12-13 "Now then, please swear to me by the LORD that you will show kindness to my family, because i have shown kindness to you. Give me a sure sign that you will spare the lives of my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them, and that you will save us from death."
So the agents agreed to treat the woman (smart dumb blonds) and their families with kindness and faithfulness once the LORD gave them the land just as long as they continued to operate in the language of "Duh!" and not reveal why the agents were there in the land, even though everybody technically knew that Salvation had planned to take over, it would make the agents job easier if they were hidden, just as they were hidden on the roof (heaven) when the Pride came looking for them (v6) but couldn't find them.
