Why was iniquity abundant in my Grandmother's heart? Because my Baptist Grandmother didn't get saved until she was 43yrs old and because it was passed down to her from her mother in whose heart was much anger!
More God
My great-grandmother was 1 of 7 children. When she was growing up she was expected to take care of the youngest child much like a parent would, only, if the child did something wrong my grandmother would get in trouble for it and this caused her to hate children. Back in the day when she grew up then married, she got pregnant with my Grandma Connie but the hate was still there from the injustices she went through. This injustice being in the form of false-burden carrying on the account of engaging in the responsiblities of an adult while you are yet still the child. Many first-born children can relate to this sense of false burden carrying because of having to help raise younger siblings inside the larger family unit. Also why they're usually high-end achievers noted for concentrative ability that promote them into quality leadership, not having had the luxury of following the sibling who went before them and could show them the ropes. Firstborns have to pave the way.
Anyway, great-grandma couldn't get an abortion because back in those days especially this was very wrong. Murder is always wrong so its good she didn't add to her list of crimes as already the word curses felt like emotional murder as great-grandma sowed the same words in my grandma as my grandma had sown into my dad. "I wish i never would have had you." "I should have flushed you down the toilet." Where do you think my grandmother learned it...
When we are not yielded to God to let Him stop these cycles of iniquity within us we will keep repeating them from generation to generation because there is this lack of true holiness to put a Stop to it. We are being beat up by these crimes, nobody is repenting, and so everybody is a mess. The Victim. The victim always trying to find somebody to blame because it's always nothing to do with you. Unfortunately, even if we take the blame then trace it all the way back to Adam in the garden, we will still have to blame, and as long as we do that, nobody has to repent because we are still waiting for somebody else to do it. When we get saved, we are the one to do it. I don't know if my great-mother ever apologized for the damage she caused my grandma, and i will go so far as to say probably not because even now in grandma's mid 90's she is still affected by these childhood words. Did you know my grandmother became an over-achiever because these words formed strong rejection inside of her. Everything my grandmother did she did well... there is a difference when you do everything well just because you can and it flows naturally without the motive of trying on purpose to get someone to say something good and loving about you, that you are special and important when really you're love-starved. But you know what God does because he saved her? God did not want to look at that motive then also have to condemn her for it, instead He took that very weak thing then allowed it to become strength, no longer looking at her saying, "You're motive for doing this Connie is all wrong." Jesus looked past the brokenheart, giving her His Sufficient Grace, finding a way to show her He loved her. And you know what, my grandmother made it a point to tell all her grandchildren how much Jesus loved them because she believed this is what He does. She would tell me that she would make it a point to let them know and ask them if they said their prayers. My strong, choleric, perfectionist grandma, is anything but perfect though on the outside it would seem so... yet Jesus still loves her, seeking always how He can improve her life and increase the peace inside of her.
