v2...the LORD has chosen You to be His treasured possession.
I Have A Friend
Looked out the kitchen window, noticed garage door opened with Mike's truck there. He must have just gotten home? Decided to take trash out real quick, grabbing 2 buckets off of the back porch, filling them with weeds that were no longer able to suffocate the strawberry beds, having thrown them all into the dumpster sitting in the alley directly in front of the neighbor's fence, where the weeds had also intertwined so i began pulling them off too, listening to Chocolate sing the song, "Give me some attention please," because his dog chain wouldn't reach the back gate so instead we interacted with playful voices.
"Hi Chocolate, Sweet Baby." "How are you pretty boy?" Soon the neighbor lady came out after another 5 or so minutes. "Hi Cindy." "Hi." Pat had reached the backyard fence, immediately confessing, even wondering that someone was out cleaning the gate? She and I have only exchanged "Hi's" before but last night (Wednesay - 5/21) we shared more about life, speaking of the California-Vacation, 20yr Anniversary, which she already knew from Mike telling her, how the Hybrid got really good gas mileage, how the gas prices are high yet the oil companies boasted of making more profit then they ever have & how wrong that was! Shared God & Family.
Thankfulness poured naturally out of her and in her experience had noticed that the younger ones are respectful but that they don't know how to appreciate things, going through things so fast, having so much, and not really knowing how to appreciate what they have. As she spoke the Spirit was speaking... in her voice was this sound of purity, naturalness, gentleness, someone who cares, so i invited her over, telling her about the blog and if i could share her on it. The 2 writings she let me read out in the alley were real, and happened not because we needed to find a ministry opportunity so hopefully God would think we were serving Him well, but out of 2 people flowing very naturally in who they are and in what we really love. It was natural, so once she came over we spent about an hour sharing things Father God had done in our lives.
Pat has lived in St. Louis all her life. She grew up with Zeverly (one of her sisters) in their Grandparents home until she was 11. Jerome, Jerard, Deklisa, LaQuisha are Pat's 4 children. Before Pat was even saved she had this prayer in her that would ask to see her dad before he died, to be able to meet him. She too did not get to grow up or really know her biological father, and in a way that only God can love, He answered that prayer even though she wasn't serving Him. Somehow the dad got her phone number. It amazed her. They met at the restaurant near her house. Pat was afraid she said so she took her kids with her. Before the dad passed on, Pat was allowed a few years in his life. To this day it amazes her that God would do that, answer a prayer before she was really even saved. What gained her instant respect was how when she spoke out in the alley there wasn't this bitterness in her voice or a person who felt sorry for themselves... when she spoke you could hear genuine thankfulness, it made me want to share how special i thought she is and also wanted you to be able to feel & hear the peace and gentleness in her voice, the genuiness, which was only magnified when we were outside because she knew she wasn't being taped.

Pat wrote about losing your mother... she shares this writing
with others who have lost a mother.
Pat shared how she still misses her Mother after 15yrs.
Show Me Your Ways

Pat and i both lost our mom's, both experienced a reunion with our dads, and both really love Father God. It's like we've known each other all our lives. Hugs Pat, You're Beautiful.
