Responding
Big Calm BlueWe were watching Star Wars
Return of the Jedi on Sunday evening (13th). There is good teaching practice in the part where Luke stands with
Dark Vader (his dad) while the evil Emperor used the situation of taking what Luke loved to provoke him into following anger- the voice of hate. Inticing Luke to follow it to become as evil as he was. Situations appear to us
before having time to think about what's coming. How we respond determines what happens. The FedEx truck partial-parked in the street. Another car drove in the left lane. Mike came upon the right lane learning that there wasn't enough room for all 3 vehicles to fit. The F150 passenger mirror ripped away as it collided with the FedEx driver mirror. His mirror didn't fall off but did swing into the window upon impact to shatter it. It's Monday, April 14th 4:35pm when Mike called from Vandeventer near Kings Highway to tell me what just happened. He was very upset and said the other guy was angry, acting like a jerk about it. "Well you just stay in the Holy Spirit because usually when someone acts like that and gets angry there is usually more at work than just that. It's like that saying that the punishment must fit the crime... if he is acting in an anger that doesn't fit what's going on, then something else is going on, but you just respond like God, you stay calm about it, keep your emotions calm. Nothing happens to you that God doesn't know about, and if He allowed it then You need to just trust Him as to why He allowed it to happen. You have to believe He is on your side, that He has your back side. Don't yield to the anger, don't follow the anger, remember on Stars Wars last night how the emperor wanted Luke to follow anger so he would flow in hate, don't do it, learn from it. It's the wrong voice. Do you want me to pray for you?" "Yes." "Holy Spirit, please calm the situation, bring peace, calm everyone down..."
What was later learned after the Holy Spirit calmed the situation down is that this man confessed his mother was on her death bed. See. This is what the Spirit knew, and knew why this man was over-reacting. His responses were not coming from this incident alone but something much greater and obviously more painful to him. Anger is always the result of one who feels powerless. Perhaps he feels powerless over his mother's situation and it makes him mad. Then the wreck happened only to magnify his anger with the reaction that did not fit the scene. This is why if someone does not learn to trust God and keep mercy around that we will destroy ourselves and each other. There has to be some healers around...
The police sited a "no-Fault" accident because the road is slendor and said insurance companies just expect each person to take care of their own... and said if we wanted to get technical it was the fault of FedEx for being parked like that but it's so insignificant that you won't get anywhere with it.
Sometimes you have to learn to go with it- do the best you can. Mike glued

and taped his passenger mirror back on for now. It doesn't work since
the electrical wires are disengaged but a cracked mirror could be more useful than no mirror at all
