Reading Between the Lines
hmmm Blue v1-8 Ch 31 NumIt's hard to imagine how Moses felt when GOD said to wipe out the Midianites. Moses Father-in-law Jethro was a Midianite priest. Jethro gave Moses some very intuitive counsel about the way to handle the counseling side of his ministry. His wife was a Midianite so it's highly likely that Moses cared for this people group and didn't see them all as a bunch of tyrants who hated Israel. Yet just like any people group, there are always a few radicals that do damage. It was on this group that God said to bring down the gavel of vengeance. It wasn't for his wife or father-in-law just because they were Midianites. Sometimes reading between the lines means black and white are really just gray, and judging the whole based on the activity of a few might not be the best thing to do.
