Jacob & Esau

Jacob = Israel
Esau = Edom or Seir
Life was hard (v14) while living in Egypt, the people lacked freedom & felt like no matter what they did nothing worked, the Egyptians still treated them like jerks (v15). They cried to the LORD Who heard them so He sent them an angel named Moses to get them out of (v14, 15) hardship & mistreatment. {Angel H#4397 mal'ak, to dispatch as a deputy; a messenger; spec. of God, i.e. an angel (also a prophet, priest or teacher): -ambassador, angel, or king.}
Then Esau's clan (Edomites) treated his own brother Jacob (Israelite clan) like a jerk by refusing to let him walk on his property to get where he needed to go even though they promised to behave & be really good by not touching anything and even offered to pay for any water they may drink but Esau wasn't having it! (Maybe he never really got over selling his birthright over a single meal so was generational touchy about promotion and food?). Either way, sometimes people, relatives especially, are just jerks sometimes but there are ways around it, always more than one way to achieve your destination. We just have to know when someone wants to help and when they don't and find a way not to stoop to this rude level of refusing to help anyone else along the way.
