Saturday 10:09am Mike calls from: Post Office on Jefferson not far from home, that he just had a car accident as he went to turn left out of this driveway. It was his fault he said, for not paying attention.
...the white lumina was forced to drive up under his left front wheel, throwing the front end out of alignment. With 17" tires to sit higher off the ground, it's hard to tell anything went wrong with his work truck.
F150 Lumina - Airbag damage. There were children in car, they were not properly belted down but this was not damaged from any human hitting the windshield. No one was injured, no hospital trips.
The police arrived and by 10:14am mike called again requesting me to bring updated insurance card from the file. The White Lumina was not insured. 2 thoughts have confirmed that Missouri law holds the uninsured motorists at fault automatically for failing to carry car insurance, even if this were so, how could you do that somebody when you know it's your fault? Laws are good, but just as the law that tutors us to Christ, it's not good to use them the wrong way when all it does is keep us in bondage. This lady has 2 kids, it's obviously expensive to live and maybe it's too hard right now for her to have insurance, and since it's our fault, this is our problem. The Good News is nobody is hurt! Mike's truck is already in shop, and he has a '98 dodge truck if he really needs to do something. He had contacted the insurance company this morning to begin the recovery process.
Spoke with dad last night (Sunday 03.23.08) at 8:28pm. He sounds good. Was amazed to hear his voice. He is staying at Inola Health Care Center for a period of 30dys. Because of medicare he has to be there this long or they won't pay it, but it's good because he has registered nurses there who can help him when he needs it. His neighbor is a 90yr old preacher who actually teaches bible study every wednesday night! That is so cool! Dad did say the roomate had to go somewhere for something because he started having breathing problems, but still, how cool to be 90 and doing your thing . Wow! He shared the story that Christy shared with me on Good Friday, how when i was praying for him while he was still in the hospital that he could see 2 angels on either side of me. What is interesting about this is not only Ps 91:11, but how both Christy and i sensed something supernatural that night. Dad was somewhat sedated and of course had his mouth full of the ventilator, yet as we interacted with him, he kept pointing to the wall with his left pointer finger. The only thing there was a blank wall straight ahead, a window with pulled blind to the right, and a crucifiction of Jesus to the left side. As he was pointing i asked, "What, what's there, is it Jesus?" Because this is all that made sense, and it was the only thing on the wall ! For the moment, Christy and i kept quiet but once we were both back in her car we admitted to having felt or sensed something spiritual going on- her nor i knew what he was seeing and didn't get to know for a few days until he was well enough to communicate. He is to call again today and we'll talk more about this because he said he wanted to verify a few things, also, told him his number will be blogged for anyone wanting to call to ask him about this. He smile-laughed and agreed. He is a sanguine personality so will love it! 918-724-6155 (Oklahoma), his name is John Hark, and he will love talking to you.
