Sovereignty
Blue v15-29 Ex 14 Saturday
Wonderful Open Door
The LORD instructed Moses to divide the sea. He said, "I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians" "I will gain glory through Pharaoh & all his army, chariots & horsemen (strength in kingdom of man- top leader/office, defense system to protect itself). The Egyptians will 'know' that I Am God."
~It's quick to judge people when they act toward us in ways we dislike yet here is the LORD's Sovereignty in action. It was Him who hardened these people's hearts. It is not like God asked the Egyptians if they wanted to be nice to the Israelites or not. There was no choice here. There was the Will of the Sovereign LORD. It is good not to judge things before the time as the Apostle Paul instructs. Even David did not judge Shimei when he began cursing David's name. In wisdom David said to his protector friend Abishai to leave this guy alone for perhaps the LORD told him to do this (2 Sam 16:10-12). The man was disrespecting King David very badly (v13) . Father says vengeance is Mine, I will repay. The best thing we can do is let Mercy triumph over Judgment when we feel disrespected, chased, hated, unwanted, unloved, unappreciated. (Like this guy William Tell who sent me reply from dream. His word seemed good but i feel he did not take time to get to know me or Mike yet was ready to direct my steps without having built a relationship first. That's pretty strong to suggest psychiatry and ask questions about marriage without even knowing somebody. So i looked in his comment for what i could receive and be grateful for, then thanked him for this.)
"When the Israelites saw the great power the LORD displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and put their trust in him and in Moses His servant."
~The battle is the LORD's. The Egyptians are a type of metaphor for sin. Father showed an example of how our sin is cast into the sea of forgetfulness. God doesn't hate Egyptians and then only love Jewish people. It is interesting revelation that the Egyptians were to know He was the LORD also (v18), and yet we consider them the enemy. Yet the Israelites weren't putting anymore trust in Him at the moment than were the Egyptians. We do not war against flesh and blood. We are not warring against each others culture. The war is against sin, the enemy of our flesh. God loves ALL people, and in His Sovereignty He works His own Will. We are to be grateful that He chooses us. It is wise not to think my group is better than your group, my culture is better than your culture. When the LORD shows us great acts of His Power the result is "the people feared the LORD and put their trust in Him."
~Since it was the LORD who hardened the heart, it is not my job to judge you or i'll be judging the LORD for hardening the heart. You can't stop Him from doing this and neither can i, so why judge you for it? We are known by our fruit, by our love for one another, of this the Revelator John spoke well. There is no law against Love. If you mix Galations 5:22-23 with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, you see a reflection of God's Glory at work and the ministry of condemnation being done away with, nailed to the tree, given away to the New Ministry of the Spirit (1 Cor Ch 3). ~Chosen One
