Blue v12-24 Ch 11 Mark

v12 The night before, Jesus was looking for fruit on the fig tree, going up to check it and to see but, only leaves (v13). It wasn't the season for ripe figs but the spiritual point is that as people, we are to be instant in season and out of season (2 Tim 4:2), producing fruit from the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22-23) so that whenever Jesus comes by to inspect our fruit we won't have to hear v14..."Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." Spiritual food is the Word... v2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. v3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; v4 and turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. v5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry (2 Tim 4:2-5).
v20 Morning had come and now Peter shows much expression as they come upon the cursed fig... you can tell by the way Peter said it that he was surprised it even happened, and that this is why Jesus responded the way He did to Peter because Jesus wasn't in doubt or unbelief when He made up His mind to curse the fig tree, He wasn't being tossed to and fro (Eph 4:14) between two opinions of, should He or shouldn't He, because He wasn't double minded (Jms 1:6-8), so Jesus meant what He said and knew that what He said would work.
v21 "Rabbi, look!" See how surprised Peter is. "The fig tree which You cursed has withered away."
Jesus realized Peter didn't really think it would work so says to Peter what he needed to do to change to become more like the (1 Cor 2:16) mind of Christ, "Have faith in God....say...don't doubt...believe that those things you say will be done... when you pray (present-tense), believe (past-tense) that you receive them, and you will have (future-tense) them." v22-24
